Learn how to reduce the effects of emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG) emitted by your company or event

In recent years, environmental problems have become increasingly evident, resulting in increased awareness of people facing these issues. Thus the search for ways to mitigate the impacts that contribute to the Climate Change has become ever greater.
Activities of our day-to-day are responsible for emissions of specific gases. The realization of an event, for example, is able to release into the atmosphere a few tons of carbon dioxide (CO2), whether or not it is an industrial process.

Therefore it is essential that society as a whole to take actions that contribute to reduced emissions of greenhouse gas (GHG), the main factor enhancer of global warming.
With the aim of supporting initiatives to improve the health of the planet, the SOS Atlantic Forest Foundation, in partnership with the Totum Institute offer an opportunity for companies and events that have adopted policies that seek to contribute to the environment and human health: to reduce the effects caused by their emissions by planting trees.

Within this process SOS Atlantic Forest Foundartion and Totum Institute have distinct roles, where SOS is responsible for planting the trees needed to reduce the effects of emissions generated, through the Forest of the Future Program and the Totum Institute manages and provides the seal (For learn more about the Forests of the Future program, visit http://www.florestasdofuturo.org.br/paginas/english.html).

The first step to obtain the seal is the preparation of the inventory (what is this?) of the company or event which wants to obtain the seal. After the inventory is made, Totum Institute will calculate the number of trees needed to reduce the effects generated by these issues.(learn step-by-step process for granting the seal)

In the end, after all emissions are inventoried and validated and the trees planted, the company will receive the seal.

The grant of each seal follows the guidelines of a specific regulations and standards (learn more).
