Totum Institute is cooperation mandated partner of the 4C Association in Brazil.

Created on Switzerland and located in Boon, Germany, the 4C Association has more than 120 members representing the most important parts of the world coffee community (as of November 2009).

The Common Code for the Coffee Community (4 “C”) of the 4C Association is a market-based and open initiative to promote and encourage sustainability in the green coffee chain. The participants in the initiative cooperate to achieve sustainability in the production, post-harvest processing and trading of mainstream green coffee, increasing the quantity of coffees with the basic criterions of sustainability in three dimensions: social, environmental and economic. The code is opened to all the participants of the coffee chain which follows these principles.
